The Dungeon Defenders Summoner class is a much easier class to start out with than A Jester class. But it still is not a recommended starting class at least in my opinion. However if your up for a challenge or have already played with some other classes to get the hang of Dungeon Defenders, then I guess I can proceed with the Dungeon Defenders Summoner beginner guide.
The first tip I have for you is that although the Summoner can wield 2 pets at the same time it can not attack enemies, and can not weild any weapons. Also there will
be some class specific pets the Summoner will be unable to use as well. This maybe a bit dissapointing but I assure you the summoner is a strong class regardless.The second tip on Dungeon Defenders Summoner beginner guide is that they do not use Defense units like the other classes do. They use what is known as Minion units, and therefore can complement other classes better since they do not use up Defense units.
The third tip is that I recommend you to upgrade towers first if you can while minion are good the summoner class is mainly a support class unless you go the dual pet DPS build instead of the minion support build. Does it mean you can not solo with the Summoner class? No it does not, but it can be a little bit harder on the earlier levels since you yourself can not attack. Also if your first class is the summoner I doubt you will have a pet to do
the damage for you either.The fourth tip is that other summoners can move your units as well. meaning if you left your minions at a certain spot, another summoner could move them to another spot to defend. So do not be surprised if you go back to a spot expecting a minion to be there and he is not there.
The fifth tip is that Orcs and ogres make a good wall off unit to slow down if not stop enemies from coming through certain corridors. I think of them as mobile walls, since like the other minions they can move. This can really come in hand for the warp crystal challenge maps, where the crystals move about randomly every now and then.
The final tip for the Dungeon Defenders Summoner beginner guide is that you utilize your pets to the best of your capabilites such as each pet has a different element it can attack with. Such as a lightning, and fire pet instead of using dual fire pets. Because you can run across elemental resistant enemies, and your pets will not be as effective.
